National Country Music Awards (NCMA)
2006 was the first year the Awards took place in Hamilton, New Zealand. Over the past three years this event has grown immensely. The NCMA is the top level of Country Music and it represents the level of artists who are ready and fine-tuned for International performances and contracting.

NCMA is the PRINCIPAL body promoting the Country Music Industry in New Zealand. Gore Awards is an amateur event, which is for families and club performers to get together and have a good time Festival, it is not aimed at Professional success, the way the NCMA is.

The establishment of the first NZ/Australia International artist exchange allowing the Telstra Road To Tamworth (TRTT) winner to perform as a guest artist on the NCMA in return for the NZ Horizon Award winner gaining a performance on one of the big outdoor TRTT concerts and heats in Australia. The addition, following this year’s awards show, of a spot for the Horizon Winner to now perform on the Global Artist Showcase as part of the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, the largest country music festival in the world.

No other NZ artist for decades has been given this major opportunity at instant stardom. The Country Music genre is the worlds most listened to and sells the most live concert tickets of any music in the world today.

Rob Potts International Director CMA says “It’s very encouraging for Country Music in this part of the world, to see NZ establishing international pathways for their young artists to gain exposure and experience and Kiwi Pro-Am has been a major force in connecting with the CMA to drive this outcome”

“This event, I think would have to be one of the most important events in country music in this country in a long, long time, and its great to see, really great to see. In fact I will go so far as to say TVNZ and TV3 have got a lot to answer for” says Suzanne Prentice, 2008 Legend Award winner.

The NCMA is a place where promoters, international agents can come to for information on the cream of the crop artists in New Zealand.

Kiwi Pro-Am have the understanding that the arts sector we are involved in demands high levels of professionalism and specific skills such as marketing and event management.
